Evil Lives Here Title Open
This was the first title open I produced, directed & edited. Filmed in the summer of 2016 with the help of my friend and DP Michael “Simon” Ulatowski.
Grave Secrets Title Open
After the success of the Evil Lives Here title open I was contracted to do title open for a new Investigation Discovery show called Grave Secrets. Once again, I hired DP Michael “Simon” Ulatowski to shoot the open as well as Phoebe Kwong to help shoot, set dress and add a new level of dynamics to the open.
We really wanted to expand on the stuff we did in the Evil Lives Here open. Since Evil Lives Here was based on the idea of living with a murderer, we stayed indoors. Grave Secrets offered us the opportunity to take things outside.
We tried to come up with set ups that allowed for different types of “grave locations”. We knew we didn’t want to do tombstones , cemeteries or fresh graves. Since this was a true crime show we tried to focus on locations and atmospherics of where you would hide a body or find clues of a murder.
For our last two shots before the title card we did a body in a lake. we knew we didn’t want our actress,Rachael Snyder, to climb into some dank swampy NJ pond, So Simon, got up at 5am and dug Small 8’x 6’ pond in his back yard so we could keep her save and also control the environment. One of the things that was grata about this was that we knew we only needed close ups so once he dug the pond we payed down some plastic, pilled it with a few inches of water and Rachel layers in it. The results came out fantastic.
Evil Talks Title Open
