About a year ago I received my Apprehension Engine. It is 1 of about 20 in that exist in the world today. Each one has been hand crafted by the amazing craftsman Tony Duggan-Smith and Mark Kett. If you have seen The Witch (2015) or The Lighthouse (2019), you have heard the talented (and co-creator) Mark Korven use it to create unnerving scores that cut right through you body shaking your very bones.
Over last year, I have spent countless hours trying to wrap my head around this incredible instrument. It doesn’t operate like anything I’ve ever played before. It’s a consistent exploration into not only sound, but mood and tone. I will be sharing some of my discoveries and creations soon!
